Alamogordo Public Schools is proud to recognize the outstanding educators selected as our 2026 Teachers of the Year. This year also marks the return of the district's Teacher of the Year program, an opportunity to celebrate the exceptional teachers who inspire learning, build meaningful relationships, and help students reach their full potential every day.

Each APS school and educational site selected a Teacher of the Year to represent their campus. These educators were chosen for their dedication to students, commitment to excellence, and positive impact on their school communities. From this distinguished group of 14 campus honorees, Jill Clark, Kindergarten Teacher at North Elementary, was selected as the 2026 Alamogordo Public Schools Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Clark joined Alamogordo Public Schools in 2019 and currently teaches kindergarten at North Elementary. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating learning environments where every child feels safe, supported, and engaged.

"I am deeply honored to have been selected as Teacher of the Year for the Alamogordo Public Schools," said Clark. "I work alongside so many dedicated educators and am humbled to be able to represent my school and the district."

Superintendent Michael Crabtree praised all of this year's honorees, noting that the return of the Teacher of the Year program reflects the district's commitment to recognizing excellence in education.

"Our teachers are the heart of our schools," said Crabtree. "The impact they have on students extends far beyond the classroom. We are grateful for their dedication and are proud to celebrate the outstanding educators who have earned this recognition."

As APS Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Clark has been nominated to represent Alamogordo Public Schools in the New Mexico Teacher of the Year program.
